DENOUNCEMENT OF THE RUMOURS FABRICATED IN THE SOCIAL MEDIA ON THE SUSPENSION OF ADMISSION INTO SOME UNIVERSITY INSTITUTIONS FOR THE 2016/17 ACADEMIC YEAR

This is to inform the general public that, it has come to the attention of the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) that some unscrupulous persons through social media, have maliciously fabricated incorrect and unfounded information to the public that, in addition to the list provided in the Undergraduate Admission Guidebook, TCU has extended suspension of admission to other twenty two (22) university institutions.

TCU hereby denounces that this information is incorrect and unfounded. Therefore it should be ignored. The general public, university institutions and all stakeholders are reminded that all official communications and announcement by TCU are done through either written notices issued by the Executive Secretary or the Chairman as the case may be, or posted on TCU website www.tcu.go.tz. Accordingly, the public notices can be issued by TCU in the print media wherever and whenever necessary.

TCU condemns person(s) responsible for this unlawful act of publishing and disseminating wrong and false message that has created confusion to the public. This act cannot be condoned for whatever reasons, and in this case, TCU will take appropriate legal action for whoever is responsible for this fabrication of information.The public is also notified that the TCU Executive Secretary is the only spokes person of the Commission. Thus any communication that does not come from the Executive Secretary or an authorized person on behalf of the Executive Secretary is deemed null and void.
