Private Agricultural Sector Support (PASS) Trust (www.pass.ac.tz) is a non-bank financial organization that facilitates provision of business development and financial services and credit guarantee to commercial farmers and agri-businesses that operate as small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) in Tanzania. The vision of PASS is to become a leading organization in the provision of financial and business development services the Tanzanian agricultural sector: .
The Managing Director is hereby inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced, dynamic and motivated Tanzanian citizens to immediately fill vacant positions currently existing in PASS Trust.

Entry Qualification
• Bachelor's Degree in agricultural field, preferably in agricultural economics, Business Administration or any similar qualification backed up with experience in business planning, project analysis, evaluation-and monitoring.
• At least three (3) years proven experience in a reputable organisation, two (2) of which in industrial/processing based organisation or related field.
• Experience in credit guarantee schemes and other financial or non-financial business development services required to accelerate investments in small and medium scale farming and agro enterprises is an added advantage.

In Service Structure
Grow from entry of administrative secretary levels with the minimum entry qualifications, and raise to Branch Manager Position.

Employment Status
Business Development Officer shall be employed on a three (3) year contract renewable subject to performance
Salary Scale - DPSG1

Key result areas

• Promoting and informing about role of PASS, at meetings with potential clients, at visits to clients, through handouts, posters, and advertising.
• Preparations of Business Plans (BP) & proposals for PASS/Clients.
• Identification of demand for assistance and support from target groups in accessing finance from
• Banks. This will cover SMEs in primary and secondary agriculture including agro processing.
• Design and establishment of feasible models for activities at smallholder farmer levels, including diversification of crops, improvement of production practices.
• Making pre-evaluations of proposals presented for support, and assisting entrepreneurs in improving on proposals into Business Plans of acceptable standards.
• Identification, and preparation of solutions for bottlenecks in agriculture performance e.g. market access, processing, and appropriate mechanization'
• Liaise with relevant key local authorities so as to identify and promote investments in agriculture and agro business in the zone. This will include Chamber of commerce, Agricultural officers, Traders, processors.
• Assisting clients with obtaining credit facilities from PASS collaborating Banks.
• Monitoring the performance of the clients in relation to respective business plans and budgets.
• Reporting to the management on progress according to the agreed procedures.
• Performing other duties as advised by management from time to time.

Duty station: The duty station will be in any of the following stations: Morogoro and Kigoma.

This is to inform the general public that, it has come to the attention of the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) that some unscrupulous persons through social media, have maliciously fabricated incorrect and unfounded information to the public that, in addition to the list provided in the Undergraduate Admission Guidebook, TCU has extended suspension of admission to other twenty two (22) university institutions.

TCU hereby denounces that this information is incorrect and unfounded. Therefore it should be ignored. The general public, university institutions and all stakeholders are reminded that all official communications and announcement by TCU are done through either written notices issued by the Executive Secretary or the Chairman as the case may be, or posted on TCU website www.tcu.go.tz. Accordingly, the public notices can be issued by TCU in the print media wherever and whenever necessary.

TCU condemns person(s) responsible for this unlawful act of publishing and disseminating wrong and false message that has created confusion to the public. This act cannot be condoned for whatever reasons, and in this case, TCU will take appropriate legal action for whoever is responsible for this fabrication of information.The public is also notified that the TCU Executive Secretary is the only spokes person of the Commission. Leo kitendawili kimeteguliwa baada ya Mamlaka ya Usimamizi wa Huduma za Nishati na Maji EWURA kutangaza kushusha bei za umeme kuanzia leo kwa watumiaji wote wa viwango tofauti.

Kushuka huko kwa bei ya umeme ni kutokana na ombi la Shirika la Umeme Tanzania TANESCO kutaka bei za umeme zipunguzwe. Sambamba na ushushwaji wa bei za umeme gharama za huduma kwa baadhi ya wateja zimeondolewa. 

Bei mpya  kwa watumiaji wadogo ni sh.100 kwa uniti, watumiaji wa kati ni sh.292  toka  298  ya  zamani.Wafanyabiashara wadogo ni sh. 195 toka sh. 200  ya  hapo  awali.

Leo tarehe 6.3.2016 Rais wa Jamhuri ya muungano wa Tanzania Dr. John Pombe Magufuli amemtangaza katibu mkuu kiongozi mpya kwenye serikali yake Mhandisi John Kijazi ambaye anachukua nafasi hiyo iliyokua kwa Ombeni Sefue, katibu mkuu mpya Mhandisi John Kijazi amekua akifanya kazi kama Balozi wa Tanzania India, mtazame Rais Magufuli hapa chini.

Rais J. P. Magufuli akimshukuru Balozi Ombeni Sefue kwa mchango wake na uchapoa kazi katika miezi yake mitatu ya uongozi.

EU-CALL FOR PROJECT PROPOSALS

The EU has developed two calls for proposals with a combined value of €57 million with the objective of developing inclusive and sustainable agricultu re-based value chains (Lot 1) and fortified foods (Lot 2) that improve food security for the poor and vulnerable and that reduce poverty and under-nutrition.

Lot 1 specifically focuses on smallholder farmers and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) agribusinesses in developing countries as final beneficiaries by increasing income opportunities, creating jobs and business opportunities along the agricultural supply chains in an inclusive and sustainable manner.

Lot 2 aims to strengthen the production, diffusion and consumption of accessible technologically viable and culturally acceptable fortified food, compliant with national and international standards. It will involve working with government and intergovernmental regulatory bodies, the food processing private sector operators and civil society, reinforcing public-private partnerships.

 The compound of unit six as can be seen is so unique here at mazimbu campus compared to other c hostels.Attractive environment,good condition,This makes the hostel to be the best among all other hostel at Mazimbu campus,and many people like to live at unit six though it is not able for it to accommodate all the students.

Solomon Mahlangu Campus (SMC) is one among the campuses of Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) situated in Morogoro Municipality, about 200 Km west of Dar es salaam, the major business city of Tanzania. Initially the campus started in April, 1979 as an educational facility for the African National Congress (ANC) of South Africa being known as ANC School, Mazimbu.  Following the
execution of a famous ANC freedom fighter, Solomon Kalushi Mahlangu by the then apartheid regime in South Africa, the ANC School was renamed Solomon Mahlangu Freedom College (SOMAFCO) in honor of the freedom fighter’s contribution to the liberation struggles.

a.    Health Facilities

Mazimbu Hospital (Formerly known as Neil Aggett ANC/Holland Solidarity Hospital).After the departure of the Freedom fighters, the hospital operated as grade “A” wing of the Morogoro Regional Hospital. As from 1/9/2005, the Hospital was handled to SUA and it is one of the most important health facilities at the campus, serving both the university and the neighborhood community.

b.   Teaching and Education Facilities

These include 28 classrooms, 4 lecture halls, 3 computer rooms, 6 laboratories, a library and an auditorium known as “the Nelson Mandela Freedom Square (DOME)’’. The University holds its graduation ceremonies at the DOME every year. Most students of the 20 undergraduate degree programs at SUA study and reside at SMC. These include those pursuing BSc.Degrees in Environmental Sciences and Management, Education , Informatics, Agricultural economics and Agribusiness, Range Management, Applied Extension Education, Bachelor of Rural Development and Bachelor of Tourism Management.

c.    Meals and Accommodation facilities

Solomon Mahlangu Campus also provide accommodation to the students, where priority is given to disabled students followed by first years, girls, foreigners and finalist students. Currently the campus have 8 hostels. Also there are cafeteria that provide meals to the students and workers.

Ecotourism and historical sites

Being one of the former bases of ANC in Tanzania, SMC has a number of historical sites, which have been attracting a number of visitors. The Nelson Mandela Freedom square, where(used for mass meetings during the ANC time); the Heroes square, where some of the ANC freedom fighter and their relatives were laid in peace, the ANC- Holland solidarity Hospital, the Vuyisile Mini Furniture Factory and the farm are some of places one would wish to visit if interested in knowing a variety of activities the ANC people were involved in during their presence
